I had never watched the HLN channel until I was in the hospital with pneumonia and the remote was broken. I watched Nancy Grace first, and for about five minutes kinda got into it because it was about the Caleigh Anthony case and was fairly interesting. Plus, I had a decent Demerol buzz going on, so there was that.
It didn’t take long to realize that not only was Nancy Grace a shrieking lunatic with flaring nostrils, but that the people who actually bother texting or calling in to the show absolutely make up the lower twenty percent in intelligence.
They will send in texts commenting on whatever “headline news” or “breaking story” is being discussed.
The most recent example of their shocking revelation is “Was Michael Jackson addicted to prescription drugs????”
They actually had a panel of yahoos discussing this possibility, as if any moron couldn’t tell the dude was completely whack. You got a two hundred thousand dollar bill at a pharmacy, over the course of one year, then you got yourself a drug problem. It’s math, folks.
So while these idiots are debating his alleged drug use, simpletons from Kentucky (why is it that they are almost always from Ky?) are texting in offering superior commentary such as, “I think Michael Jackson was on drugs” and “I think Michael Jackson died of a drug overdose!!!”
REALLY, Columbo????
It’s depressing to realize that these morons actually believe they are providing clues or insight into any situation. They go to the trouble of sending a text, and it makes them feel smart when they see their name on the scroll at the bottom of the page.
The host of whichever show will take calls from some of these sleuths, and encourage their delusions further with replies like, “That is an excellent question, Tonya! Panel, is an autopsy being performed on Jackson?”
Then the panel will nod their heads importantly and say, with collective straight faces, “Yes, an autopsy was performed immediately after his death, and a second one was ordered two days later. The results have not been released.”
Then some other fool will call in and say, “Will they check for drugs, because I think he died of drugs”.
And the panel agrees that, yes, it is a possibility that they will perform a drug screen, and thanks, Tammy, for the call!!!
The most recent “headline” I saw, and I am dead serious: Did Michael Jackson try to buy Octumom’s children??
I would like to say I will never watch this stupid shit again, but occasionally, it is THIS, or televised poker, and I am not going there. Fuck that shit, man.
